Asigra Televaulting -- DS-Client -- Installation Guide |
This document, contains basic setup instructions, on how to install the Asigra Televaulting software for your remote data backup service, provided by Quantum RBS. This application supports multiple operating systems, all Windows based O/S , Novell, UNIX (LINUX, Solaris and MAC), IBM Mini-mainframe (AS400), and open file systems (MS SQL, Oracle, MS-Exchange, IIS, MySQL, Eurodora, Email) systems. The application can be installed on any native Windows computer, to backup all network shares and critical company data that is integrated into your computer network. To install the application effectively, the user must be a member of the Administrator group with full administrative permission levels. To use this product on a UNIX platform, you must install this LINUX version of this application from our downloads page, located at http://www.quantumrbs.ca/downloads.html. Setup for UNIX instructions will be provided during the download of this product application, or can be viewed prior to installation by viewing the manual at the bottom of the downloads page. You will need the account information(.CRI file) that was sent to you, to complete your installation process for automatic online data backup services. Thanks you for your interest in our product. Setup: Locate the multi_dsclini.exe or dsclni_6_0_0_0.exe or .bin (for Linux) file that you downloaded. Double click on this to activate the installation process. |

6. Registration Information: This is where you will provide your login credentials, which is your account
information that we provided to you prior to installation. |

7. Connection Type: If you are using DSL, select No. If your using a dial up modem, select Yes. |

8. Specify DS-Setup Address: This is provided with your .cri file and should automatically populate. You may need to click on the address and click Add to configure properly. Click next to continue. |

| 10. Local Account Login Setup: Please select the account that you logon to the local machine with. This user must have Administrative permissions to install this software application. |

| 11. Select Encryption Key: Select your preferred encryption type. Important! Be sure to keep your encryption key in a safe place. If you lose it, we can not get it back for you, as you are the only person who knows what this has been set to. This to ensure, the highest level of security. |

| 12. Database Type: This section is to define a database source to capture your backup activity log. If no instance of a database service engine is detected, such as Microsoft SQL Server, the DS-Client application will install an instance of MSDE by default. |

Following the steps as outlined about, keeping the default settings during your installation, will result in a smooth and reliable online data backup and restoration services. Our Technical Team will evaluate daily logs to identify any problems during installation. After your first backup, open the DS-User application and go to the Logs Tab to view your Activity Log through the user friendly GUI. After selecting a time frame, click on the find button to view the results. |
